What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Planner position at Kelly?
Responsible for developing production/supply plans that take in to account forecasts, availability of material and manufacturing capacity. Critical proven activities should include OEE improvements, anticipation of cross functional business requirements, development of strategy for project execution, coordination of multi-echelon implementations, and full accountable for targeted business deliverables. In charge of production plan scheduling across multiple sites in a high complexity environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees master schedules for production and new product, ensuring comprehensive compliance with materials requirements for manufacturing. Incorporate in forecasts and master production schedules.
- Executes manufacturing Production Orders for critical product work centers.
- Incorporate new products or product improvements into the manufacturing forecasts and master production schedules.
- Executes master production schedules relative to shelf life, inventory guidelines and requirements.
- Provide analyses and judgement while assessing options. Expectation of concise communication to highlight issues and solutions with supporting data.
- Determines ERP driven material requirements and creates production execution schedules and maintains inventory at planned levels.
- Develop and facilitate proposals, to support organizing and conducting relevant, concise, data driven, recommendations.
- Works to resolve and avoid material shortages on key production lines as part of a SWAT team, minimizing downtime by ensuring work orders are available and material staged.
- Manage finished goods inventory to meet agreed-upon customer service requirements.
- Minimize inventory write-offs of finished goods inventory, intermediates and raw materials
TRAINING RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Complete all assigned and required training satisfactorily and on time
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education or Experience (in years):
- Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related work experience OR
- Master’s degree in field with 3 years of related work experience OR
Knowledge and skills:
- Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. Preferred SAP experience.
- Thorough understanding of master production scheduling, capacity planning and forecasting principals.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
- Ability to facilitate groups or meetings.
- Experience with SOPs, GMP, ISO, JIT, MRP.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Physical requirements/abilities:
- Ability to work in an office environment.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- APICS certification, CPIM preferred.
- Medical device manufacturing experience.
- SQL and Visio experience valued.
