What are the responsibilities and job description for the Scientific Inventory Coordinator position at Kelly?
Direct Hire
Shift: Monday - Friday 8am-5pm
Compensation: $24/hour
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate all inventory types which may include the following:
- Common laboratory consumables
- Chemicals
- Sample management/freezer management
- Equipment Instrumentation support
- Shipping/Rec
- Gas Cylinder Coordination
- Procurement functions
- Focus on safety and adhere to safety as part of the scope of work, drive safety initiatives impacting company's safety standards
- Work order follow up
- GEMBA walks
- Onsite training to maintain certifications and access
- Use of required Avantor and/or customer systems for job function such as Inventory Management or Chemical tracking systems, Advanced SAP, Oracle, or other ERP systems (DFS, 3 rd Party Product, Returns, Freight claims, Quotes)
- Create, understand, and follow Standard Operating Procedures; make recommendations, anticipate needs, and understand what changes are required for SOP's and/or draft revisions; demonstrated ability to train others on SOW/SOP, understand customers service/expansion requests and relay to leadership for consideration
- Control/fulfill Inventory, communication with customer, scope of work adherence with proper documentation outlining change
- Performs shipping coordination activities such as shipping customer material, handling routine issues, operating basic warehouse equipment, entering shipping information into customer computer systems, and equipment inspections • Responsible for all customer service-related functions including but not limited to: order entry, reporting, maintaining metrics, etc.
- Some degree of specialized access/PPE/certifications may be require.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment that may include cubical, stockroom, and Point-of-Use locations at customer locations
- Perform other duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent required Experience
- 1-2 years in a customer facing environment - material handling/inventory/customer service
- GMP experience is a plus
- DOT/IATA training/experience is a plus Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Act as a single point of contact with internal and external customers who will require the highest level of customer support; collaborate cross functionally, drive customer communication (agenda driven/regular, scheduled, adhoc)
- Ability to establish and foster positive customer relationships while having a positive can-do attitude
- Advanced skills in working in Microsoft Office programs such as MS Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Team • Consistently exhibits a proactive mindset on a day-to-day basis, presents company information and KPIs to team and/or customer
- Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
- Exhibits a proactive mindset daily, understand company information and data to communicate to the team and/or the customer
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal, driving communication both internally and externally
- Strong time management and organizational skills
- Ability to demonstrate safe practices for both Avantor regulations and Customer sites
- Problem solving, understanding use of continuous improvement tools to enhance productivity/performance
- Sense of urgency in completing work assignments
- Ability to work autonomously and provide coverage of multiple locations
ENVIRONMENTAL WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL EFFORT
- Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
- Work assignments are diversified. Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems. New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
- A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on routine basis.
- Minimal physical effort is required. Work is mostly sedentary but does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 50 lbs.
