Trade Analyst - Hybrid

Kelly Science and Clinical FSP is currently seeking a Trade Analyst for a long-term engagement with one of our Global Pharmaceutical clients. This position is hybrid in Rahway, NJ or West Point, PA. This person will join our Kelly FSP (Functional Service Provider) division, a managed solution provider and business unit of Kelly Services, Inc. Trade Analyst Position Description Position will be responsible for ensuring US imports/exports are declared and shipped in compliance with U.S. regulations and Global Trade Compliance (GTC) standards. This role will include activities prior to shipment as well as transactional entry activities aligned with US Customs, Census, FDA, USDA, FWS, CDC, and other Partner Government Agencies (PGA) requirements. Position will work with Global Trade Compliance (GTC), site shipping personnel, and Clinical and Research stakeholders across all US Merck locations. Position will also interact with Logistics, Transportation, Clinical Country Operations overseas, and outside vendors/shippers. Key challenges will include influencing all constituents and stakeholders to following trade policy and procedures and solving shipment specific issues when they arise.

Responsibilities:

• Review shipment request information and shipping documents to ensure compliance with GTC global standards and local import Standard Business Practices

• Ensure all trade attributes required by US Customs, Census and applicable PGAs are complete in our Global Trade Management system to ensure compliant import broker clearance instructions or export declarations. • Work with GTC COE group to obtain HTS classifications and FDA Product Code assignments when needed

• Work within our Trade Operations Import Standard Business Practices and align with policy set by Global Trade Compliance
• Influence external stakeholders to comply with Standard Business Practices developed by MRL Trade Operations
• Support U.S. shipping sites with U.S. import or export transaction challenges
• Contribute to special projects and assignments related to international trade as needed

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher required
• Trade related certificate or Customs Broker License desirable

• Minimum of 3-5 years functional expertise with international trade or equivalent. • Knowledge of US Customs Import regulations and related experience

• Prior experience interfacing with international companies
• Prior hands-on experience using Microsoft products (Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word)
• Prior experience with global trade management systems like SAP GTS or Integration Point, or similar databases, very desirable.
• Proficient in English
• Good project management skills
• Demonstrated strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Sustained level of high performance while quickly processing high volumes of work
