Our client is seeking a remote Quality Engineer to join their team. This candidate will develop and maintain functional automation test scripts utilizing modular frameworks and best practices.
Duties
- Execute test scripts to validate correct functionality of applications
- Use SQL for back-end database validation
- Participate in requirement and design review sessions
- Evaluate requirements and design documents from a quality test automation standpoint
- Manage test coverage based on risk analysis
- Document defects and evaluate priority of defect based on overall application functionality
- Coordinate test script reviews with stakeholders as appropriate
- Adhere to requirement review, defect writing, and test script writing guidelines
- Ensure completion of all deliverables within schedule, budget, and quality constraints
- Participate in root cause analysis sessions
- Ensure that projects follow prescribed software development life cycle standards
- Identify obstacles and roadblocks and offer suggestions
- Help drive and improve QA process within the team assigned
- 8 years of QA experience
- 5 years of hands-on automation testing of integration web services that include database validations using tools like CA Dev Test, Rest Assured, and SOAP UI Pro
- 3 years of Java and JavaScript programming is a plus
- Experience working with CI tools such as Jenkins, TeamCity, or GitLab
- Experience with QA processes and deliverables in an Agile or Scrum environment
- Proficient in defect tracking and analyzing root cause utilizing tools such as Jira or Rally
- Strong understanding of automation, performance concepts, and approaches
- Experience working with or on remote teams
- Experience in test environment and test data management
- Demonstrated experience in XML, XSD, XPath, MQTT, Topics, HTTP, HTTPS, JSON, bytes-array message format, or Extensible Authentication Protocol
- Experience in SOA frameworks, processes, strategies, and approaches
