Responsibilities
The registered nurse provides nursing care to patients in an assigned clinical area and leadership on the unit, under the supervision of a Nurse Supervisor, or RN Coordinator. The RN applies clinical nursing knowledge and utilizes demonstrated skills to ensure the safety and comfort of patients and families according to legal, organizational and professional standards. The RN utilizes critical thinking to identify priorities and make judgments concerning basic and comprehensive needs of multiple patients in order facilitate appropriate and timely care.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education
A.
Graduate from an approved professional registered nursing program.
B.
Bachelors degree in nursing
Experience
A.
6 months in a clinical area. May consider a new grad if hiring department can provide direct supervision for 6 months, and agrees to participate in a new grad preceptoring program.
B.
Two years of ambulatory care
Licenses
A.
Current and valid Texas RN license
B.
Specialty nursing certification in ambulatory care or one appropriate to the specialty area assigned
Special Skills
A.
Able to use equipment and related supplies for selected patient population for the assigned clinical area. Including CPR, oxygen administration, and intravenous therapy.
Computer experience.
B.
Windows bases computer skills
EPIC experience
