Job Title: Human Resources Manager
Location: Nashville, TN
Job Summary and Mission:
Strategic HR partner to plant leaders (overseeing multiple sites); responsible for staffing planning for strategic growth, leadership staffing and development, talent retention and engagement, and change management.
* Challenge status quo driving and facilitating diversity of thought.
* Partner with HR colleagues and plant leadership in organizational assessment and diagnosis to translate strategies into actions that deliver results and improve organizational capability.
* Identifies trends and partners with leadership to create and implement plans to address challenges at plant level (skill gaps, turnover, diversity, utilization, performance improvement/management, organization design and restructuring, etc.).
* Partner with operations leadership on people, organization and business strategy, talent management, development & acquisition, employee engagement and organizational capability.
* Partner with Talent Acquisition and hiring managers to provide strategic staffing and recruitment consultation.
* Partner with HRSS to provide a positive employee experience for payroll, leave administration and other transaction tasks
* Maintains, and communicates key HR metrics and scorecards that define org performance and growth. Reinforces corporate strategies for alignment to objectives that impact the enterprise operation
* Ensures performance management systems are being followed through intervention, coaching and business partnerships
* Execute the rollout of ongoing Talent Programs around performance management, organization and talent assessment, engagement and more at plant level.
Knowledge & Skills:
- Knowledge of specialized field or expertise.
- Oversees execution of key cross-functional projects in support of strategy.
- Overall understanding of business objectives and influences of department on achievement of those objectives.
- Experience in a Manufacturing Environment preferred
In-depth knowledge of working in a matrix organization - Knowledge of federal, state and local laws, statutes, etc., which govern employment policies and practices
- Thorough understanding and application of internal and external HR principles, concepts, practices and standards
- Excellent planning and organization skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills; must be an articulate and persuasive communicator
- Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
- Limited supervision and direction is provided, as this individual can operate and drive results and set priorities independently
- Working knowledge of MS Office
- Experience working with HR database
- Strong business and compensation acumen
Leveraging Resources:
- Determines how resources are allocated within area of accountability.
- Provides input into organizational design for area of accountability, primarily with a focus on short-term.
- Typically, accountable for development and adherence to a departmental budget.
Typical Education or Equivalent Work Experience:
- 4-year secondary degree, or equivalent experience
- 5 years in discipline
- Previous management experience is preferred
