Kent Nutrition Group (KNG), a member of the Kent Corporation family of companies has an exciting opportunity to join their team as an Operator at their Rockford, Illinois plant! This position is a full time role from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. and offers an excellent full benefits package!
The Operator will be responsible for performing routine tasks related to the feed production including quality control, ingredient and feed processing, manufacturing and load out, ingredient receiving and storage, equipment maintenance, housekeeping, operate the bagger, sewing machine and fork truck in a proficient and safe manner for optimum production.
- Operate all feed manufacturing equipment safely and efficiently.
- Mix and prepare livestock feeds efficiently and in a manner that assures accuracy and high quality.
- Ensure KNG’s quality assurance protocol is met regarding ingredient receiving, load-out, and bagging.
- Report any factors that may influence the quality and safety of the finished feed and ingredients to the immediate supervisor.
- Observe and enforce all company policies & procedures.
- Make sure all samples are representative of the feed and are properly prepared before they are submitted to the Quality Control supervisor for review (splitting, profile is inspected, etc.).
- Make sure all feeds that require a shakeout are shaken out and results recorded.
- Make sure all appropriate quality control reports are completed on every run of feed logged.
- Make sure all runs meet yield guidelines. If a run of feeds does not meet guide lines notify Quality Control Supervisor immediately.
- Make sure all feed is in proper bag, and correct tag is used and legible.
- Make sure lot code on crepe tape is legible.
- Other duties as assigned by plant management.
- High School diploma or GED
- Farming background a plus
- 1 plus years of manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of OSHA safety requirements
- Basic computer knowledge
- Good communication, verbal, written and math skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Thorough understanding of cGMP’s
- Knowledge of HACCP Feed & Safety Plan
- Knowledge of FSMA
- Ability to lift a minimum of 75 lbs from floor to working height as job requires
- Ability to operate a forklift
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
Salary : $33,500 - $42,400
