Watch us here: What will you do The Microbiology Scientist I is responsible for reviewing final testing results, determining the acceptability of a product or raw material based on test data and test specifications. They may routinely test raw materials and finished products for conformity to specification using SOPs, including testing using wet chemistry techniques. Key Responsibilities: • Adhere to strict compliance with procedures applicable to the role • Exercise the highest level of integrity in the tasks performed, embracing a behavior of employee involvement and commitment to doing the job right the first time • In a timely and prompt manner, identify, report, and seek correction for deviations noted in the workplace • Collection, processing, and testing of raw materials, packaging components, finished products, in-process material, and cleaning validation samples to guarantee that they conform with Microbiology specifications and standard operating procedures (SOPs) • Support the review, data generation, and/or writing of technical Microbiology documents such a SOPs, laboratory investigations, test protocols, and Annual Product Reviews (APR) • Maintain inventory of testing supplies, temperature monitoring, water sample collection and testing, environmental monitoring, and other duties assigned by the Supervisor • Provide support during regulatory inspections, including but not limited to supporting in the form of scribes, runner, and document gathering • Maintain a strong working GMP knowledge and communicate/identify GMP gaps • Take necessary and immediate action to eliminate and address safety hazards and communicate any observed unsafe behaviors

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications • Minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent degree • GMP and GLP Quality Control Microbiology Lab experience • Experience within a Pharmaceutical, OTC, or other regulated environment • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite • Ability and flexibility to work First Shift schedule (8:00am - 4:30pm, Monday - Friday), and provide alternate weekend and holiday work coverage or other shifts as needed • Ability to travel up to 10% Domestic Preferred Qualifications • Focused degree in Microbiology, Chemistry, Biology, Natural Science, Medical Technology, or related science • Basic experience/knowledge of LIMS or equivalent system At Johnson & Johnson, we’re on a mission to change the trajectory of health for humanity.
