Knowledge and Experience :
- Minimum of 5 years of practical experience in all aspects of construction.
- Minimum of 5 years supervisory experience in construction.
- High School diploma or above required.
- Trade School / College or equivalent work experience in Bridge and Building and / or construction preferred.
- Must be able to communicate successfully with a variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external.
- Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities.
- Knowledge of Department of Transportation & Federal Railroad Administration rules and regulations preferred.
- Knowledge in train operations and safety requirements preferred.
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Comply with and ensure compliance of direct reports with all related safety rules and procedures and report all hazards as required.
- Preferred knowledge of MS Office package.
- Experience in the application of labor contracts preferred.
- Qualification in Keolis Commuter Services / MBTA MW-1, CWR, or equivalent required and knowledge of 49 part CFR 213 Standard
- NORAC and Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) qualification required.
Skills :
- Must be able to perform in a 24 / 7 transportation company with multiple shifts that may include weekend hours
- Communicates successfully with variety of disciplines and levels, both internal and external staff
- Must possess excellent verbal and writing skills in train operations, safety requirements, corporate policy and procedures, and union contracts.
- Strong interpersonal skills for training and coaching activities.
- Satisfactory prior job performance required.
- Must have strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Must have intermediate knowledge of MS Office specifically Word and Excel and the ability to learn other software applications.
- Must have significant experience in the application of labor contracts.
Key Accountabilities (Essential Job Duties) :
- Supervise restoration and renewals of track and qualified to inspect track for defects as requiredunder Department of Transportation Federal Railroad Administration regulations.
- Responsible for quality assurance of work performed by Track Department employees.
- Must be available to respond to emergency calls at all times.
- Must be flexible enough to cover special planned assignments as necessary.
- Identify training needs and assist in the formulation and implementation of programs as required.
- Administer collective bargaining agreements through regular job performance.
- Ensure compliance with KCS equal employment policies, safety rules, and operating rules.

- Work hours may vary in length and schedule (may include a non-standard work week)
- 100% travel expectations
