Responsibilities & Requirements
The Clinical Dietitian Coordinator:
Coordinates and manages daily activities of Clinical Dietitians and Clinical Dietetic Technicians. Ensures clinical team expectations are accomplished. Plans and implements training programs for clinical staff and dietetic interns to ensure competency. Assesses clinical staff competency as part of ongoing QAPI program. Performs other duties as assigned.
- Accurately manages position paperwork (chart audits, QAPI documentation, new hire paperwork, performance evaluations, QAPI documentation, etc.).
- Follows correct hand hygiene procedures (sanitizes hands before and after entering patient rooms, washes hands as needed, etc.).
- Utilizes appropriate scripting and responds to patients/internal and external customers (effectively uses HEAL principle, serves as a role model in promoting mission, vision, and values, builds strategic relationships, etc.).
- Effectively and safely uses position equipment, performing applicable cleaning/sanitation procedures (cleans high touch surfaces per guidelines, able to problem-solve software and printer malfunctions, etc.).
- Leads dietitian functions
- Uses electronic patient medical record (EPIC) and patient menu software (VST) correctly.
- Able to accurately assess/evaluate patient population utilizing appropriate evidence-based documentation through the nutrition care process (completes malnutrition assessment and nutrition -focused physical exam when indicated, identifies and implements intervention, develops effective plan of care, writes appropriate orders as allowed, etc.).
- Utilizes nutrition care process to counsel patient population regarding nutrition-related diseases.
Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from a program accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND®)
- Completion of an ACEND®-accredited supervised practice program
- Current dietitian license in the State of Ohio
- Registration through the Commission on Dietetic Registration
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Proven computer literacy in business and nutrition software applications
Preferred Qualifications
Three to five years’ clinical nutrition experience desired, demonstrating progressive levels of responsibility and leadership
