General Description
The Human Resources Manager is responsible for providing support, coaching, and counsel to staff members of Kettle Cuisine. As a member of the manufacturing site’s senior leadership team, this individual will execute and influence the implementation of human resources strategies and objectives including: Full cycle recruitment, Onboarding, Talent Management, Training, Employee Relations, Engagement, Implementation of Change Management programs/initiatives, Legal and Compliance, Communications, and administration of Total Rewards programs. This role is also responsible for the supervision of the local human resources team.
Responsibilities/key accountabilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Business Partner - Understand the business clients’ priorities and serve as a key member of the team to assist in driving business results. Drive systemic organizational and people strategies that are aligned to the business strategy. Build relationships with key decision makers within the functional units to ensure the alignment and support of business needs, objectives, goals, and operating priorities with Human Resource policies, procedures, and initiatives.
- Human Resources Excellence – Under the direction of the Director of Human Resources, work collaboratively to diagnose manager and team member capability needs and design ongoing learning and development plans. Implement management capabilities that result in a transparent, inclusive and diverse environment. Identify key human resource needs, develop strategic solutions and create comprehensive human resources plans in support of key business needs in a fast paced, dynamic, changing environment.
- Change Agent - Partner with, and coach the facility’s leadership team to facilitate organizational and cultural change. Act as a catalyst for building Organizational Effectiveness within the business.
- Process Manager - Lead implementation of core HR programs such as goal setting, performance and talent management into the client’s business ensuring an effective, sustainable people strategy over the long term. Effectively communicate HR programs to managers and employees. Monitor management practices and legal compliance issues with respect to policy, Federal, State, and Local laws. Responsible for full cycle recruitment for assigned client groups, including onboarding of new employees. Communicate and implement HR initiatives, inform client groups and ensure programs are aligned with the facility and company culture.
- Employee Advocate/Relations & Engagement- Build management capability to facilitate an open and transparent environment that enables effective employee relations. Ensure the role is perceived as an objective employee resource and escalation path for unresolved employee relations issues. Plan, implement, and evaluate policies, programs, and practices. Develop and lead People initiatives with focus on retention, engagement, and recognition.
- Workforce Planning, Recruitment & Onboarding – Assist Plant Director in analyzing, forecasting, and mapping workforce supply and demand, assessing gaps, and determining target talent management. Responsible for the recruitment of production hourly employees and for supporting the sourcing, screening, and interviewing of job applicants for middle management level, professional and technical job openings. Apply recruiting and hiring practices that are in compliance with federal regulations and organizational policies and procedures throughout the hiring process and coordinates offer packages and pre-employment testing, as required. Coordinate intern programs for company.
- Coaching - Coach and counsel managers and employees regarding policies and procedures, discipline, interpersonal and teamwork opportunities. Develop managers’ leadership skills through active coaching. Create clarity and alignment around leadership expectations. Proactively partner with department managers and provide support to help them accomplish their business goals.
- Data Analytics - Track and collect data, and report on KPIs. Use critical thinking and data analytics to drive HR strategy and day to day client management.
- Lead or participate in special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Behavior, or related field. Master's degree in Human Resources Management or MBA. Professional HR certification preferred.
- 5-7 years of progressive, multidisciplinary HR experience in CPG, food and beverage, or other process or discrete manufacturing, with a minimum of 3 years of people management experience, preferably in large and small companies.
- Strong generalist experience across multiple human resource disciplines, including talent acquisition, employee relations, benefits and compensation, performance management, compliance and HRIS. Certification in change management or coaching a plus.
- Thorough knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
- Proven experience in strategically partnering with department heads or senior leadership and leading change across all levels of an organization.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal), as well as presentation and listening skills. Demonstrated ability to influence others while developing positive relationships at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work in an ambiguous, fast paced, high growth, deadline oriented environment, handling multiple projects and conflicting priorities simultaneously.
- Able to handle sensitive and confidential situations with high levels of discretion, empathy, and composure.
- Flexible, adaptable, positive and open-minded; comfortable giving and receiving feedback and willing to hold people accountable at all levels.

- Highly proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and HR Systems.
