POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Human Resources Manager, the HR Generalist provides support in functional areas of the human resources department, including recruitment and employment, personnel records, worker’s compensation, leave administration, benefits administration, organizational development, and training.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assists with the full-life cycle recruiting, including posting job requisitions, screening and interviewing candidates, and generating offer letters.
- Participates in various external recruitment and community events representing the YMCA.
- Assists with new hire orientations and on-boarding to meet or exceed staffing and turnover goals with high volume of quality candidates.
- Ensures compliance with Federal and State legislation related to all human resources matters.
- Provides day-to-day human resources support for all employees and managers. Provides information on employee programs and policies.
- Administers FMLA, benefit, leave, and workers compensation programs.
- Assists with maintaining personnel files and all necessary new hire paperwork in HRIS.
- Ensures communication and implementation of a variety of employee recognition programs and incentive programs are carried out.
- Owns projects from start to finish that support HR initiatives.
- Responsible for Child Abuse Prevention processes for all staff and volunteers.
- Responsible for Learning Management System administration and maintaining all required training documentation.
- Fosters strong relationships with business partners to administer effective employee programs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
