Job Description

The Dealership Vehicle Prep Associate helps ensure complete customer satisfaction by preparing both new and used vehicles in several situations.  These situations can include but are not limited to:
 
- checking in new vehicles from the factory as they come off trucks
- cleaning a vehicle for the lot (CFL)
- cleaning a vehicle for delivery to customers (CFD)
- applying both interior and exterior protecting products (i.e. Zurich Shield, Poly Steel, etc.)
- various tasks from different dealership departments when needed (driving, moving vehicles, etc.)
- stain, scratch, road paint removal and miscellaneous vehicle improvement when applicable
- with training applying bug shields, vent shades, and pinstriping  

The ideal candidate has a high energy level, a desire to work in a fast paced environment, and a valid driver’s license. He or she must have great communication and customer service skills, strong organizational and problem solving skills, and a positive attitude. Candidates must be able to drive both manual and automatic transmissions and safely maneuver vehicles in tight and small spaces. Previous experience is NOT required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Drives vehicles to and from service areas and lot as needed
  • Installs protective coverings (seat covers, steering wheel covers, floor mats, etc.) and tags in all vehicles brought in for service
  • Services vehicles with gas, oil, and water
  • Washes and cleans vehicles as needed
  • Helps maintain lot appearance by cleaning driveway and sidewalks, removing snow and debris as necessary
  • Helps maintain shop cleanliness, including windows, doors, floors, etc.
  • Transports customers to and from their home when needed and requested
  • Attends all staff meetings, trainings, and educational classes as required
  • Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
  • Follows all safety and security procedures
  • Performs other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record
  • Able to drive both automatic and standard-transmission vehicles
  • Able to safely operate motor vehicles in tight and small spaces
  • Highly professional and dependable
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Basic computer and internet skills
  • Previous experience in a similar role a plus
