Summary
The National Manager, Retail Planning, will report directly to the Executive Director, Retail Development and perform a key role in the continued assessment, evaluation, and development of dealer representation strategies to achieve KMA long-term growth, volume and dealer profitability objectives. This role includes ongoing and regular interaction with Regional and National personnel to achieve “win-win” outcomes for Kia (National and Regional) and the dealer network.
Primary responsibilities will include developing and executing sustainable network representation strategies, overseeing the timely completion of market studies and analyses, leading the preparation, review, and evaluation of dealer network proposals including open points, buy/sells, relocations, etc. and implementation of dealer Area of Primary Responsibility (APR) adjustments as appropriate over time.
This position will also be responsible for maintaining the Dealer Master File used for billing dealers for vehicles, parts, accessories, marketing and training expenses, managing and administering Network Improvement Fund (NIF) budget to assist with achieving long-term representation goals and objectives, managing and maintaining various executive reports and analyses, and managing key vendor relationships including three onsite vendor personnel.
Major Responsibilities
1st Priority - 30%
Develop and implement long term dealer network strategy including identification of high potential opportunity areas and future network strategies. Evaluate and analyze Dealer proposals for open points, buy/sells, relocations, and all other packages consistent with KUS strategy while adhering to state laws and company policy. Manage ethnic minority representation matters including NAMAD presentations/strategies, etc.
2nd Priority - 30%
Direct analysis for causes of retail performance levels and initiate recommendations for focused action plans in coordination with national and regional stakeholders.
3rd Priority - 15%
Oversee and manage dealer Framework Agreements, including establishing, monitoring, and communicating performance criteria, and determine appropriate candidates for Framework Agreements. .
4th Priority - 15%
Support ad hoc research in network planning and business management for all constituencies (Buy-Sells, Relocations, Add Points)
Create, maintain and develop actionable reports for executive management.
Support development of long-range network improvement strategies.
5th Priority - 10%
Manage and enhance all relevant data sources, such as registration, demographic, market census and dealer financial data.
Provide key intelligence and guide IT projects, such as centralized dealer database and business management tools.
Education/Certification
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or equivalent job experience in related field required. Master’s degree preferred.
Overall Experience
Minimum of ten (10) years automotive wholesale experience with significant Regional interaction including Market Representation/Retail Development experience at OEM level is required.
Directly Related Experience
Dealer network planning, financial analysis and vendor relations experience required.
