The Position:

The Work:

• Attend training series in early spring and summer.
• Participate in all required webinars and online training series.
• Master the Aquatics curriculum, protocols, and schedule, offering feedback and
• adjustments that will improve the program.
• Submit all required paperwork on time.

• Implement the Kid Explorer Clubs aquatics curriculum, pool schedules, and safety protocols with energy, integrity, and passion.
• Monitor activities in swimming areas to prevent accidents and provide assistance to Club Members
• Rigorously enforce the rules and protocols in place to ensure pool safety
• Maintain order in the pool area
• Provide Club Members of all skill levels with hands-on coaching, leading group and/or individual instruction on a daily basis.
• Provide Club Members with written and verbal feedback, including the timely completion of any assigned swim reports.
• Maintain a laser focus on pool safety and act as a first responder if confronted with an emergency situation.
• Serve as a role model for Club Members and fellow team members in demonstrating positive attitudes, respectful communication, appropriate attire and grooming, and diligent work ethic.
• Work as part of a team to foster a safe, fun, and supportive Club environment grounded upon Kid
• Explorer Clubs’ mission and values.
• Build strong connections with Club Members, taking personal responsibility for the well-being, enjoyment, and skill development of aquatics program participants.
• Implement Kid Explorer Clubs’ traditions, games, and activities, and participate in all Club traditions, games, and competitions.
• Maintain enthusiasm and focus throughout busy days during which you will participate in every aspect of aquatics programming.
• Play a vital role in the efficiency and safety of AM/PM carpools.
• Communicate respectfully, clearly, and kindly with all members of the Kid Explorer Clubs community, including Club leadership, fellow team members, Club Members, and Club Members' families.
• Work in all weather conditions.
• Take responsibility for Club Members’ belongings while they are at the pool, holding items for safekeeping when necessary.
• Meet Kid Explorer Clubs dress code and appearance requirements, including requirements specific to the aquatics program.
• Communicate with parents as requested by leadership in order to provide customer connection and relay important information on Cluber experience.
• Participate in and help facilitate all required in-season training series, webinars, and team meetings.
• Attend all special events as assigned, interacting with families and assisting with set up/clean up.
• Report any issue, question, or concern regarding the Club Members promptly to the Aquatics
• Director and/or Site Leader; notify appropriate leadership immediately of any evidence of substance abuse, child abuse, child neglect, severe medical conditions, individuals appearing to be under the influence of alcohol or controlled substances around Club Members, or any other potentially dangerous conditions or situation.
• Demonstrate ethical and professional behavior in working with Club Members, Club Members’ families, fellow team members, leadership, and facility partners while upholding the Kid Explorer Clubs core values at all times.
• Adhere to state law, Kid Explorer Clubs policies procedures, and protocols, and contractual obligations.
• Take on additional responsibilities as assigned by the Kid Explorer Clubs site leadership or HQ and not otherwise prohibited by law or regulation.

The Requirements:

• At least 16 years old.
• Completed Lifeguard Certification before start of program (if you do not obtain your Lifeguard Certification, please apply for our Swim Instructor position).
• CPR/First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification before start of program
• Preferred: At least one year of experience as a coach or swim instructor.
