A neurofeedback technician is responsible for administering neurofeedback therapy to patients. The primary job duties include:
1. Assessing patients: The technician evaluates the patient's medical history, symptoms, and goals to determine the appropriate neurofeedback treatment plan.
2. Setting up equipment: The technician prepares and calibrates the neurofeedback equipment, such as EEG (electroencephalogram) devices, to measure the patient's brainwave activity.
3. Conducting sessions: The technician guides patients through neurofeedback sessions, where they provide real-time feedback on their brainwave patterns. They monitor the patient's progress and make adjustments as necessary.
4. Analyzing data: The technician collects and analyzes data from the neurofeedback sessions to track the patient's progress and make informed recommendations for further treatment.
5. Educating patients: They explain the neurofeedback process to patients, answer questions, and provide support throughout the therapy. They may also teach relaxation techniques and stress management strategies.
