What are the responsibilities and job description for the Revenue Cycle Specialist position at KidsPeace?
The Revenue Cycle Specialist (Medical Insurance Biller / Collector) is responsible for performing established financial processes that enable and expedite medical insurance billing and collections. This includes (but not limited to) customer service, billing claims according to Federal/State regulations, compliance of governing agencies, patient account research & resolution, identification of reimbursement issues, resolution of credits & issuance of refunds, identification of payment variance invoices, follow up and resolution of denied claims.
- Requirements
- Prior Healthcare experience in office setting, medical terminology, knowledge of professional and/or facility billing & collection practices is required.
- Must have background in third party payers, Medicaid and Managed Care Organizations and understanding in contracts and regulations.
- Must have knowledge of Electronic Health Records and working use of automated billing, collections, payment posting and reimbursement.
- High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field preferred
- Minimum of three years’ experience preferred.
- Must have general knowledge of the use of PCs and advanced skills applications (E.H.R., Excel, Word, etc.)
