What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Prep/Sushi Maker - We Train! position at Kikka Sushi?
Kikka sushi is looking for an energetic, hardworking, dependable, Food Prep / Cook that will provide great customer service in the Whole Foods Market located at: 310 E. 51st Street, Kansas City, MO 64112
In this Full Time with benefits job works 7am – 3pm with weekdays off.
The Food Prep / Cook will make sushi in advance and per customer's request. You don’t know how to make sushi, no problem we will teach you!
The team member will also do prep work, prepare other Asian foods and maintain a clean and neat environment while helping customers in a fun, fast paced, exciting environment.
To thrive you must show up to work on time and as scheduled, have a flexible morning and evening availability, be willing to work hard (this isn’t an easy job), be patient (it takes about 3 months to get comfortable with the job), must be willing to stick it out (not quit after a few days or weeks) and be able to work with multi-cultural and multi-lingual co-workers, some who barely speak English.
Pay is $15.00 per hour
Qualifications:
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Must be familiar with what sushi is (hint, it’s not just raw fish)
- Be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
- Must work all Saturdays, Sundays and holidays.
- Eligible to work in the U.S.
Preferred experience:
- Working in quick service restaurants, supermarkets or fast paced environments
- Food handling experience and food handler certification
