Overview
Our Fort Lauderdale office is looking for a Land/Community Planner with 4 years of experience to join our land planning team.
Responsibilities
Project experiences will be diverse, as we provide services to both the public and private sectors. You will perform a variety of tasks, supporting various project managers and collaborating with team members. Responsibilities may include:
- Leading land use/comprehensive planning projects
- Coordination with various municipal and State agencies
- Perform zoning, land use and urban design evaluation to identify development projects sites
- Community Redevelopment Planning projects
- Prepare planning and land use studies and varied technical information
- Evaluate development proposals to identify compliance with zoning regulations.
- Project management: Organize, schedule and establish priorities for assignments.
- Coordinate and lead community and public outreach activities
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in a relevant field such as urban planning.
- 4 years of work experience in related field.
- AICP Certification preferred, or in process of obtaining
- Experience managing projects for both private and public clients.
- Active participation in industry-relevant professional associations and committees.
- Working knowledge of Florida State Statutes and local ordinances, codes, regulations, policies and procedures pertaining to Planning, Zoning and Building.
- Strong writing/verbal skills
- Experience with Esri ArcGIS software/GIS
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
- Positive attitude and a strong work ethic
- Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines
- Detail-oriented team player with an ability to contribute to a positive work environment
- Ability to work independently and as a team
- Ability to commute to local municipalities and job sites
