E&I Tech - GMT
Responsibilities:
- Work safely and maintain the protection of the environment, co-workers, customers and communities in which we operate.
- Attend daily, weekly and monthly Safety/Quality/Environmental (SQE) meetings. Participate in the SQE process.
- Install, maintain, inspect, calibrate and repair facility electrical, instrument & control systems & devices.
- Maintain and repair power distribution system components.
- Perform preventive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment.
- Assist with maintenance of computer maintenance management system (CMMS) including data entry and work order processing.
- Assist with daily management of preventative and corrective maintenance functions at the facility (mechanical, structural, vehicles, E&I, regulatory, etc.)
- Complete all required documentation and assist with maintenance and equipment files.
- Provide training to operators on proper operation and maintenance of electrical equipment.
- Implement minor E&I additions and monitor quality of E&I contract personnel.
- Verbally report and document any unusual conditions to plant supervisory personnel.
- Work calls outs on an as-needed basis.
- Support operations team as needed on E&I subject matter.
- Assist mechanical maintenance personnel in performance of assigned duties.
- Issue safe work permits to include general work, inspection and hot work.
- Identify, report and correct safety and environmental concerns.
- Report all accidents, incidents and near misses to supervision or management.
- Maintain a positive and professional atmosphere for all employees and visitors.
- Proper use of PPE.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Associates Degree in E&I field or equivalent from 2-year college or technical school.
Experience/specific knowledge:
- A minimum two (2) years demonstrated work experience in an industrial instrumentation/electrical field
- Must possess thorough knowledge and application of EH&S and Preventive Maintenance procedures and programs.
- Working knowledge of high/medium and low voltage power systems and equip., and various instrumentation and control devices.
- Working knowledge of Control systems including flow controls, valves, and automation.
- Working knowledge of Human to Machine Interfaces.
- Working knowledge of Medium Voltage Switch Gear and Motor Starters.
- Working experience and knowledge of PLC based control systems
- NCCER certification preferred
Competencies, skills, and abilities:
- Must possess ability to read E&I diagrams and drawings.
- Must be proficient with the use of power tools, hand tools and measuring equipment.
- Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), prioritize work schedule, focus attention on details, and follow rules.
- Must possess basic math skills and good verbal and written communications skills.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Must demonstrate strong work ethic.
Working conditions:
- Ability to work varying schedule, subject to call outs 24 hours/day 7 days/week to deal with potential problems.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs.
- Able to perform tasks while wearing a full face respirator or supplied air.
- Ability to work around water (dock).
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
- Ability to obtain forklift certification
- Ability to obtain Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record as established by KM's insurers.
- Successful completion and passing of company drug screen, background check and respirator fit test.
