The Adult Services/Community Information Outreach and Referral Capacity Development position is responsible for developing community service capacity and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families. This position will support capacity development and service providers of Adult Services (employment and community inclusion) and Community Information, Outreach and Referral (CIOR) services within King County. Work collaboratively with team members, community partners and stakeholders to develop a plan for service capacity development in the areas of employment, community inclusion and community information, outreach, and referral services.Engage with partners in collaborative efforts to identify current and anticipate future service needs. Create new strategies to increase the number of qualified providers of needed services, with a focus on supporting organizations that serve Black, Indigenous and People of Color (BIPOC) communities in linguistic and culturally relevant ways.Develop creative and collaborative approaches with community-based agencies to support recruitment, hiring and retention of staff linguistically and culturally reflective of BIPOC communities in King CountyCollaborate with internal and external partners to support continuous improvement and professional development efforts for CIOR and Adult Services (employment and community inclusion) contracted providers.Develop partnerships with community-based entities and service partners to leverage existing funding and resources on behalf of individuals with I/DD and their families/support systems.Identify resources available through service partners and community-based organizations.Work collaboratively with internal and external partners to create strategies to leverage available resources.Identify and support training for community and partner organizations such as law enforcement, parks and recreation programs, etc. to ensure inclusive support and services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families/support systems.Collaborate with team members to identify potential funding sources such as federal or community grants which will maintain or support the growth of current programs.Support and collaboratively provide leadership of the Division’s Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Team. Respond to politically sensitive inquiries from individuals, families, agency providers, government partners, advocates, and other community members.Represent the Division in multi-agency and inter-jurisdictional meetings and community meetings.Perform other related duties as assigned.
