JOB SUMMARY
-
Directs personnel involved in establishing, promoting, and maintaining KDMC's Safety/Security programs by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate team members.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Develops and maintains Safety/Security programs as needed.Assists direct leader in conferring with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs with Medical Center activities.
- Establishes operational procedures for activities such as traffic control, guarding and patrolling physical property.
- Confers with representatives of management to formulate policies, determine need for programs, and coordinate programs with Medical Center activities.
- Assists direct leader in conferring with representatives of local governments to insure cooperation and coordination of Medical Center’s activities with law enforcement.
- Makes rounds of the campus to observe and report any hazards or security problems.
- Develops and coordinates corrective action plans for any problem observed; understands and complies with work rules and safety regulations.
- Assists in maintaining lost and found property program and handles lost property reimbursement issues, investigates incidents of unusual circumstances reported by Medical Center staff, visitors, physicians, or patients, notifies department leaders or Nursing Supervisor of all unusual occurrences.
- Develops and maintains safety educational programs as needed.
- Oversees overall safety program, upgrades program as needed to meet compliance of all regulatory agencies.
- Understands and complies with work rules and safety regulations.
- Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic throughout the Medical Center premises to maintain orderly flow, issues parking citations and enforces parking policy, assists in responding properly to emergency situations, operates the control panel on the CCTV system.
- Organize components for the annual safety education as the acting Health System Safety Officer along with other key safety leaders to provide mandatory and relevant safety education to all Medical Center Team Members.
- Participates in the preparation of annual budgets for areas of responsibility.

EDUCATION/LICENSE/ CERTIFICATIONS/OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirement:
-
Bachelor's Degree required in Safety/Security or related field and/or 5 or more years of safety/security experience

Valid driver’s license, clean driving history, and clear criminal history are required.
