Location: Job is located in Soho, NY - 4 days on-site and 1-day WFH (this is not a remote position)

Summary:
Retail Planning Manager is accountable for the development, coordination, and review of the product assortment plan as well as the financial planning, price management, and inventory of all categories of business.
Responsibilities:
Execute and communicate strategic merchandise financial plans and strategies that support the merchandising and financial objectives of the Company
With guidance, create pre-season sales, margin and inventory plans, and/or SKU to support product and financial strategies
Analyze historical data and current trends to recap business. Work to identify risks and opportunities
Create seasonal, monthly and weekly plans and forecasts for sales, inventory, markdowns and gross margin. Monitor performance and partner with the buying team to develop financial strategies to achieve plans
Initiate and develop actionable analysis to recap business by classification and subclass at a top-line as well as store level in order to partner with the buying team to create strategies to drive sales and achieve gross margin profitability.
Manage and update monthly open-to-buy
Recommend buys based on thorough analysis of retail business prior to each market to achieve increased sales, profitability and sell-thru % by class and department.
Work with the buying team and stores to analyze business by door to maximize sales and stock opportunities. Monitor flow of initial assortments as well as reorders to stores by classification and by style
Recap business by classification, style, color and size and create best seller/hindsight reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis to allow for thorough analysis of the business
Produce weekly reports recapping sales, inventory and gross margin vs. plan and projection by department, classification and by door
Hindsight in-season & post-season performance reports -- share findings with cross functional teams.
Qualifications & Requirements:
3 - 5 yrs. Experience in Retail Planning, Store Planning and/or allocation
Minimum Bachelor's Degree
Computer Literate - Advanced Excel Skills
Full understanding of product lifecycle and proficient in retail math
Knowledge of industry best practices/standards
Demonstrated experience in synthesizing data analysis into actionable results
Strong insightful analytical skills and business acumen
Advanced business knowledge of retail, merchandising and price optimization concepts
Readily grasps numerical concepts and interprets financial information accurately
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Able to independently organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence cross functional partners
Ability to work in a team environment and communicate with multiple levels within the organization
Exhibits high standards and accountability; takes pride in accuracy
Result-orientated and self-motivated with a strong sense of urgency
