POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to supervise, maintain, and improve upon the growth and success of Sales within an assigned territory. The Sales Manager is responsible for recruiting, hiring, and training sales personnel, conducting and monitoring daily sales activities throughout the territory, and coordinating marketing efforts with Outside Events (OE).
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, and mentors sales personnel:
a. Conducts local recruitment events and ad campaigns, as budget allows;
b. Develops training programs for newly hired sales personnel;
c. Performs regular ride along assessments for all sales personnel.
2. Distributes sales leads to personnel in-person on a daily basis.
3. Provides individual performance statistics to sales personnel and hold sales personnel accountable for meeting and improving upon performance to meet or exceed company standards.
4. Monitors and coordinates with OE District Manager regarding recruitment, training, and performance of OE representatives to ensure quality leads and optimal sales for office.
5. Contacts customers of canceled and no-sale appointments to regain trust, interest, and reschedule; performs sales pitches for saved appointments.
6. Responds immediately to customer issues and concerns.
7. Ensures timely and accurate reporting of office sales results to corporate.
8. Conducts bi-weekly sales meetings, attends and participates in other branch, regional, and corporate meetings regarding Sales and OE.
9. Develops monthly Sales and OE business plans for the territory and submit to corporate for approval; implements monthly business plan once approved.
10. Maintains a valid drivers’ license, current auto insurance, and a vehicle that is available for exclusive use at all times during employment with the company.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Inspects OE representative performance through secret shopping at mall and event displays.
2. Encourages employee research and recommendations for new OE venues and grass roots marketing programs.
3. Maintains a professional office environment.
4. Ensures compliance of sales personnel and complies with all safety policies and procedures.
5. Performs other job-related duties as assigned to meet business needs.
ABILITIES AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be proficient in reading & writing using the English language
- Must have the ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must have the ability to work with minimal supervision
- Demonstrate the ability to use independent judgment for resolution of departmental issues
- Must have the ability to sit for extended periods of time
- Must have competency with computers & other electronic office/business equipment
EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree or related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience. Maintains a valid drivers’ license, current auto insurance, and a vehicle that is available for exclusive use at all times during employment with the company. Must be at least 21 years of age.
