What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cook position at Kitchfix?
Come work for a leading food service company in Chicago!! The Prep Cook/Cook position is responsible for assisting the Kitchen Manager and cook stations to prepare meals according to Kitchfix standards.
Starting at $18/hour, based on experience
Work Schedule-
- Thursdays - Mondays
- 7am - 3pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare food items and ingredients according to meal recipes in a high-volume kitchen
- Produce delicious and well-executed food that aligns with the nutritional mission
- Maintain the highest standards for food safety and cleanliness
- Work with team members and Kitchen Manager to create delicious food according to Kitchfix standards
Requirements:
- 1 years experience working in batch cooking or high-volume food production
- Self-motivated and passionate about cooking
- Show a willingness to learn from others
- Excellent knowledge of kitchen equipment, safe sanitary practices, and culinary skills
- Strong knife skills
Ideal Candidates:
- Looking for morning to afternoon cooking shifts
- Understand nutrition and creating healthy food such as dairy-free and gluten-free
- Spanish fluency is a plus
Work Requirements:
- Able to stand and work with your hands for 8 hours at a time
- Ability to work 7:00am - 3:00pm, Thursdays - Mondays (Times/days may change based on daily production)
- Food Handlers Certificate or Manager Card
- Reliable transportation to get to work
