Education/Experience
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
- MINIMUM 5 YRS SQL Server 20XX,2019, Azure SQL Server, MySQL 5.x DBA experience in a development role
- Deployment and upgrade of engine & clients
- Experience with SSIS Packages, T-SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, constraints and functions
- Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment.
- Experience building processes supporting data transformation, data structures, metadata, dependency and workload management.
- Experience in data gathering, cleaning and transforming techniques
- Data-driven, results-oriented with the ability to quickly analyze data and make decisions that drive performance.
Knowledge/Skills
- Tuning reviews/assessments (DB and SQL tuning), and query monitoring
- Backup and recovery, high availability/Cluster, AlwaysOn and DR
- Assisting, troubleshooting and guiding technical and non-technical resources with any issues
- Knowledge with deploying DDL changes through CICD pipelines
- Solid knowledge of multi-tenant methodologies and implementations
- SQL replication and change data capture, Experience with Data Streaming in Azure a plus
- High Availability, Business Continuity, and Disaster Recovery are natural to you
- Familiarity with migrating off NO_ENGINE_SUBSTITION
- Migrating collation to UTF8_MB4
- Tuning parameters for a production MySQL 5.7 system
- Knowledge of MySQL capacity planning implementing and leveraging tools like Percona Online DDL or Github Ghost to assist in large table migrations.
- Understanding of Data Lineage, Source to target mapping
