Summary: The medical biller and coder will use codes to document patient diagnoses and treatments.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Reading and analyzing patient records
- Determining the correct codes for patient records
- Using codes to bill insurance providers
- Conduct audits and coding reviews to ensure all documentation is accurate and precise
- Communicate with insurance companies about coding errors and disputes
- Managing detailed, specifically-coded information
- Maintaining patient confidentiality and information security
- Communicate with physicians and other healthcare professionals with questions about treatments or diagnostic tests given to patients to ensure accuracy

Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Candidate must pass Urine Analysis and criminal background check.
Education/Experience:
Excellent typing and 10-Key speed and accuracy
Superior mathematical skills
Commitment to high level of customer service
Familiarity with ICD-10 codes and procedures
Working knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy preferred
