Position Purpose
As an Engineering Technician IV you will serve as a subject matter expert lead, and provide technical and field support services including planning, organizing and managing project tasks for KLJ client projects.
Essential Functions
- Contribute alone or in a group setting to support the project plan, execution strategy and management of field construction services
- Drive construction administration and observation on assigned projects
- Assist with design, plans, specifications, reports, maps, schedules, estimates, data collection, and documents and agreements as needed
- Support GTM team by providing accurate scope, schedule and cost.
- Manage multiple project teams, tasks and work with the appropriate PDL to address both segment financial and project delivery risks and opportunities
- Effectively deal with difficult situations and confrontation both internally and externally
- Plan, organize, coordinate, prioritize, and monitor client relations
- Ensure compliance with KLJ safety and quality standards
- Utilize effective written and oral communication
Responsibilities
- Coordinate required on-site field resources to meet project construction commitments
- Deploy and manage a team of Construction Services Group resources assigned to project
- Provide leadership, mentor, and direct others
- Read and interpret construction plans to provide client management and effectively communicate by answering inquiries from coworkers, clients, or the public
- Support the development of internal policies and standards for construction document projection
- Become familiar with the plans and specifications, maps, and related material for each project and be able to utilize the information appropriately
- May use CADD software and equipment to prepare and revise technical drawings using company established standard procedures
- May be required to understand and follow company established standard CADD procedures for file structure and standard drawing procedures for projects
- Maintain master of software(s) associated with typical project tasking and project requirements.
Qualifications
- An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited engineering or construction management program; equivalent applicable experience can be substituted in lieu of formal education.
- Previous construction project oversight field experience
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate motorized vehicles
Preferences:
• Pursuit of Professional Engineering Licensure preferred
Hours and Travel
This position requires the individual work 40 hours per week with 50% of time spent in the office and 50% in the field.
