Job Summary:
The metal fabricator will modify, repair, and improve existing products, equipment, and controls and will assist in developing new or updated systems, components, or products.
KMS Solutions is seeking motivated individuals to join our team to provide Engineering Support Services to the Program Executive Office Submarines for Ship Building (TEAM SUB SHAPM) program offices at the Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington Navy Yard in Washington DC.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Seeking skilled fabricator for a custom/prototyping fabrication environment.
- Most of the fabrication efforts are unique and thus require a diverse skillset.
- Candidate will work closely with engineering and must be able to read and interpret production drawings.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- The ideal candidate has 2-3 years of experience machining parts using both mill and lathe
- Ability to operate plasma cutting table.
- Candidate will have tube bending, punching, notching, grinding, and polishing proficiency.
- Welding is a plus but not required.
- CNC/CAM programming experience not required but is a plus.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Detail-oriented and organized.
- Excellent problem-solving ability.
- Ability to follow highly complex directions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Education and Experience:
- HS diploma.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience
- Minimum Secret security clearance

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Lifting of loads up to 40 pounds is routinely required.
- Must be able to work in a waterfront office environment.
- Operation of the facility's 1-ton pickup and fork truck is routinely required.
