Description:
The Assistant Manager provides shift project supervision in order to train, retain, and develop people to assume more responsibility, encouraging behaviors which build sales and control costs. They are a problem solver with strong work ethic and leadership skills, consistently meeting or exceeding the standard for the guest experience. The Assistant Manager is an experienced leader with a goal to move up in the management field.
Responsibilities:
- Knowledge of overall restaurant practices including bar, dining room, grill and kitchen
- Serve as a role model, communicate clearly and effectively with employees and customers while demonstrating effective leadership skills and ensuring 100% customer satisfaction
- Work FOH shifts to set the pace, respond to every customer service need in a positive and accommodating manner
- Develop and coach employees to ensure shift execution, delivering an enjoyable experience to guests
- Evaluate employee’s performance and provide performance feedback to employees
- Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to all safety standards
- Ensure responsibility for the security of store cash receipts daily
- Flexible to work according to business demands, open and close store as needed
- Assist with administrative responsibilities assigned by the Store Director including payroll changes, revision of schedules, bank deposits, TABC audit, Food Handler audit, invoices and other organization office procedures
- Knowledge of business strategies to achieve sales profit goals and meet budgetary guidelines in sales and profit
- Ensure the execution of all special events are exceeding standards
- Participate in all-store meetings including management team meetings for communication and accountability
- Plan, implement, and follow up on all projects assigned by the General Manager
- Manage the store appearance, maintenance, and atmosphere
- Execute daily shift meetings to set direction for the shift
- Identify and delegate responsibilities to shift leaders and staff to ensure objectives are met and excellent service is consistently achieved.
- Effectively manage the restaurant in the absence of the General Manager.
Qualifications:
- Previous full-service restaurant management experience desired
- High school graduate or equivalent; some college desirable
Personal Characteristics:
- Strong leadership, motivational and people skills, pleasant dealing with guests and co-workers
- Exercises good judgment in decision making, ability to be flexible and adapt in any situation
- Must be able to work well under pressure
- Holds self-accountable for high personal standards of conduct and professionalism
- Open to feedback and self-improvement
