YOUR EVOLVING HR MANAGEMENT POSITION ENTAILS THE FOLLOWING CONTRIBUTIONS:
- Develop and implement an effective Employee Relations Strategy that creates and maintains a positive and respectful culture and environment overall.
- Be responsible for hiring talent: Learn how to use the indeed.com employer platform, write job ads, post correct job ad copy from templates, conduct interviews, and contact referrals.
- Lead the talent management efforts including DE&I, succession planning, competency development, process planning, career planning, retention efforts, and development activities throughout the company.
- Support performance management initiatives, including integrating balanced assessments, goal setting and development processes, and tracking employee performance and skill development for promotions and raises.
- Conduct engaging and welcoming orientations and onboarding, ensuring clear communication between employees, leads, and management.
- Maintain and update the company’s IIPP and Employee Handbook with the most current labor laws.
- Advise and counsel managers and their staff on HR/employee issues and activities.
- Understand and apply lean manufacturing concepts to HR systems and problem-solving.
- Track employee tool purchases and repayment.
- Provide counsel to all employees on a wide range of personnel matters and develop effective plans of action to resolve and prevent recurring issues as best as possible.
- Be responsible for risk management and safety.
- Track employees’ attendance, including time clock punches, over time hours, and paid time off.
- Handle all aspects of workers compensation claims, provide thorough documentation and explanation of event details, and interact with claim adjusters as required.
- Maintain complete and accurate personnel files.
- Participate in employee monitoring, document verbal warnings, perform formal write-ups, and terminations while strictly adhering to California Labor Laws.
- Respond timely to all EDD and Labor Board communications and contacts. Represent and defend the interests of the company at hearings when required.
- Document, comply and accurately process all employee withholding orders.
- Submit accurate invoices in a timely manner for employee benefits, workers compensation, disability, and payroll-related agency inquiries.
- Be in charge of State and Federal Regulation upkeep for employees, payroll, and retirement plans.
- Prepare and maintain OHSA forms 300, 300A and 301.
- Optimize employee management ongoingly.
- Understand and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws, rules, regulations, and statutes governing HR processes at all times.
- Update, create, and communicate necessary changes of personnel policies and procedures to management and employees to ensure that proper lawful compliance is met and enforced at all times.
- Develop and execute key initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in all areas of Human Resources, including organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training and development, benefits, employment practices and legal compliance.
- Consult with legal counsel as needed and/or as directed by the CEO, CFO, or EVP of operations on personnel matters.
- Work directly with management to assist them with carrying out their responsibilities with personnel matters.
- Work directly with management to process and record injury reports, OSHA filings, and investigations of work-related accidents.
- Work directly with the Safety Committee – make recommendations, perform annual and quarterly drills, and track progress alongside management.
- Manage Occupational Health Programs and Worksite Response Programs.
- Process bi-weekly payroll for all employees.
- Update and audit the Payroll system and Benefits Portal for both new hires and terminations.
- Perform dual verification of payroll reporting.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned as the company evolves.

- Must be accessible via phone if emergencies and urgent issues arise. A company phone will be provided.
- Ability to work at our physical office location in Stockton, CA Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5pm.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred but not required. Having extensive job-related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. You must have five or more years of HR leadership experience with at least 2 of those years in the construction or flooring industry..
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is a sedentary job. You will be sitting most of the time at a desk and computer.
