What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Manager position at Knock?
The Compliance Manager is a self-starter with a mortgage compliance background who can take general direction and complete tasks with urgency and accuracy. This position is communication-heavy and requires frequent verbal and written communication with others. The Compliance Manager is responsible for a broad range of lending compliance matters, including but not limited to the responsibilities listed below.
- Manage a team of compliance analysts
- Provide day-to-day compliance guidance and support to Knock lending product and operational groups focused on originations
- Research compliance related issues and offer interpretations and solutions to assist mortgage operations in their daily activities
- Research, communicate, and test compliance requirements for new or modified products or services
- Review marketing materials such as prescreen direct mail, social media ads, television ads, radio ads, search engine marketing ads, disclosures, brochures and forms to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including UDAAP issues
- Support issue management including resolution of any corrective action as necessary
- Oversee the Testing and Monitoring program including the Quality Control Program
- Provide support for regulatory examinations, audit, and third party diligence requests
- Work cross-functionally to gain a deeper understanding of other teams' processes and the impact of policy on their businesses
- Continually learn, grow, and expand your knowledge, while also supporting others' learning experiences; act as a mentor and be a resource for others inside and outside of your team
- Take on ad-hoc projects as they arise & always be willing to support your team where they need you
Qualifications - You’ll Bring:
- Strong attention to detail and strong project-management skills, with a proven ability to coordinate across organization, departments and functions
- Demonstrated knowledge and application of consumer protection laws and regulations such as TILA/Regulation Z, ECOA/Regulation B, FCRA, FACTA, FDCPA, SCRA, BSA/AML, EFTA, UDAAP, and GLBA HMDA
- Experience conducting compliance monitoring and testing
- Ability to handle several projects at once while staying organized, detail oriented and diligent
- Strong communication skills - ability to articulate verbally and in writing, plans, processes, policies and issues to stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Professional certifications such as Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM) a plus
- Encompass experience strongly preferred.

- Education: High school or equivalent experience

Our Compensation Philosophy: As a fully remote (U.S.-based) workforce, our goal is to ensure that all Knockstars are fairly compensated. Please note that the salary range information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for Colorado applicants. The salary range estimate for this position is: $108,000.00 - $139,000.00 incentive plan (bonus) USD.
The actual offer, reflecting the total compensation package & benefits, will be at the company’s sole discretion, and determined by factors including but not limited to years of experience, job level, geographic location, and other relevant business considerations.
