What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bookkeeper / Auditor position at Knowledge Builders?
Bookkeeping/ Accounting/ Auditing Clerks
Under the direct Supervision of the Project Assistant, and oversight of the Director of Grants Finance, the incumbents of these positions will assist with the processing, review, and payment of the CARES Act grant projects.
Duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Complete fiscal transactions in CAFÉ and/or SFS related to grants and/or grant contracts
- Compile information needed to complete the monthly reconciliations of all CARES Act grant programs
- Compile information as requested by the Grants Finance management team
- Monitor and review system generated reports for errors, missing data, etc…
- Conduct outreach to grantee for supporting documentation related to payment review conducted by the Office of the State Comptroller
- Assist Grants Finance staff with processing of fiscal documents in NYSED's internal grant payment system (CAFÉ)
- Assist with administrative assignments such as boxing files, mail distribution, sorting and reviewing reports, organizing files
- Assist with inquiries from internal or external stakeholders
- Additional administrative duties, as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Financial Management, Accounting, or related field
- Alternatively, an associate’s degree and two years of experience in office/program administration, processing fiscal documents, customer service, and/or banking
- Experience in Microsoft Office applications such as word and excel is needed.
