New Life Work Coordinator

Summary

The New Life Work Coordinator ensures the effective integration of New Life residents’ day to day work and life skills through classes and community service opportunities. The New Life Work Coordinator is responsible for creating a positive learning environment both while working, volunteering, and in the classroom.  The New Life Work Coordinator is responsible for setting up community service opportunities for New Life residents and overseeing those service projects. New Life Work Coordinator is also responsible for helping residents with employment and housing.

• Demonstrated commitment to the Christian faith; spiritually mature
• Proven training abilities; excellent communication and organizational skills
• Strong ability to work and communicate across multiple departments
• Training
  • Provides hands-on teaching while working with students to accomplish daily tasks
  • Works with residents on interviewing skills, job preparation, and resume building
  • Maintains open channels of communication with program staff to identify student needs and abilities
  • Provides class room teaching on job skill related topics
• Demonstrated ability to establish respectful relationships with students, co-workers, and volunteers
• Helps residents with job applications and getting interview/work attire to obtain employment
• Ability to show mercy, be hospitable, and an example of servant leadership; working knowledge of appropriate boundaries
• Helps transition residents fill out housing applications to obtain permanent housing
• Basic computer skills and ability to use MS Office products (specifically Word and Excel)
• Ability to give direction to others; high degree of flexibility and resourcefulness; team player
• All other assigned duties

Working Conditions

• Ministry campus facility where emergency rescue services are provided
• Exposure to stressful student situations requiring discernment
• Walking, standing, sitting, bending and lifting up to 30 pounds required
• Some travel required between KARM facilities and within the community
• Occasional required attendance at KARM meetings or special events, sometimes during evening hours
