In Fremont, we serve large, global clients in telecom and datacom industries in providing next generation optical modules to support the growing need for data and communications. We are developing optical connectivity solutions, optoelectronic solutions, Wavelength Selective Switch Solutions, Optical Amplifiers and fiber optic assemblies and arrays.
We are looking for a Program Manager will be aligned with client that is a leader in telecommunications networking equipment. We have several large projects within this program. This person will be a main point of contact between the client and our Global engineering teams.
What You Will Do In Your Role
- Partner directly with the end customer on programs progress and proactively addressing areas of opportunities and challenges
- Work with PLM on business development, market research, and product line strategies
- Represent and own the client program while collaborating with global, cross-functional engineering teams during the whole project lifecycle
- Work with all stakeholders on definition of product scope, project schedule, product cost, engineering budget, and manage the dynamics during development
- Lead, motivate and delegate engineering teams in global sites on project development execution with excellence
- Take ownership in items related to risk management and mitigation and provide proactive communication to clients and stakeholders
- Work with overseas NPI team on volume production readiness
- Conduct routine interlock meetings with global customers on product definition, schedule update, troubleshooting.
- Coach and develop junior project managers on capability and professionalism
The Experience You Will Bring
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering , Optical, Communications, Networking or related technical discipline
- Experience with Program Management for complex engineering programs
- Experience communicating directly with Tier 1 customers
- Extensive experience in product lifecycle management
- Proficiency in project development management with global teams, at executive level with traceable details.
- Experience in both waterfall and agile development methodologies: Scrum, Sprint, CI/CD, etc.
- Experience in project management and ALM tools, such as MS Project, SmartSheet, Jira
What Will Put You Ahead
- MS or PhD in optical, physics or scientific field
- At least 5 years of experience with telecom/datacom product development
