Procurement Manager
In this role you will work with the Advanced Materials & Chemicals (AM&C) team to plan and implement activities to purchase materials for internal use. You will be responsible to manage the AM&C Procurement Team, and you will also be responsible to procure certain critical categories.
The position is located in Rochester, NY. The AM&C Procurement Team supports Film Manufacturing, Synthetic Chemicals Manufacturing, Solvent Recovery, as well as the critical growth areas of Battery Coating, Pharmaceutical Manufacture, and Fabric Coating. This position will play a critical role in Kodak’s future growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Manager of the AM&C Procurement Team:
- Ensure the AM&C Procurement Team’s goals are aligned with Corporate Strategy and AM&C Objectives.
- Manage the team’s performance: select, develop, coach, and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
- Assign category and activity responsibility to individuals on the team. Oversee team activities. Review and approve purchase orders and contracts over established dollar threshold.
- Identify and drive resolution of issues which hinder team performance.
- Provide input to annual budgets. Ensure department costs are within the budget.
- Oversee annual standard price-setting process.
- Develop, communicate, and enforce company policies and procedures for purchasing.
- Identify supply risk for the team’s categories of responsibility. Work with the AM&C to develop risk mitigation plans.
- Project Management: Identify improvement opportunities for the team, and kick-off and manage improvement projects. Lead the team to support Procurement organization project initiatives (e.g., system implementations). Lead the team to support corporate-wide initiatives (e.g., compliance with new data privacy laws, compliance with new HSE regulatory requirements.)
Category Manager for Certain Critical Categories:
- Develop Category Strategy
- Lead sourcing initiatives to select suppliers
- Negotiate agreements
- Write (using templates) and Manage contracts
- Manage supplier relationships and compliance to contract.
- Manage supplier performance
- Manage risk
Desired Attributes, Skills & Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Procurement Manager in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with an ERP system, preferably SAP. This person must understand MRP and master data, and their importance to a successful procurement function.
- Technical understanding of Chemistry is preferred
- Data analysis and ability to manage complex spreadsheets
- Understanding of legal terms, including incoterms
- Organization, communication, conflict management, project management, problem-solving, and teamwork
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in Chemistry or related field.
