Kokomo Grain Co., Inc. was founded in 1950. The company has enjoyed steady growth over the years through acquisitions and expansion and now has a federally licensed capacity of over 55 million bushels. The company sells whole grains (corn, soybeans, and wheat) to processors for eventual use primarily in food, soft drinks, and animal feed. The company has facilities in Kokomo, Amboy, Edinburgh, Anderson, Emporia, Burlington, and Winamac, IN.
Operations Technician
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Performs all duties in a safe environmentally compliant manner.
2. Repairs and rebuilds equipment to maintain its integrity and insure its longevity.
3. Cleans and prepares storage facilities including but not limited to grain bins and ground piles.
4. Visually monitors grain and grain products for irregularities and takes proper action when discovered.
5. Assists in the unloading of grain from trucks. Weighs/measures grain output on trucks.
6. Understands how to safely shut down and isolate equipment for maintenance using Lock Out - Tag Out procedures.
7. Knows and understands the operation of the skid loader, front end loader, yard tractor, lawn mower as well as equipment at specific locations as needed.
8. Operates dryers when needed.
9. Welding experience a plus.
10 Overtime Hours during high volume periods including harvest.
11. Load containers
Physical Demands
Comfortable working at heights, such as walking on catwalks in high positions. Able to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable climbing fixed and stationary ladders. Able to shovel as needed. Has the ability to work in confined spaces and in a broad range of climate conditions. Comfortable utilizing mobile and stationary equipment and systems.
