Position Overview

As a Prep Cook, you are responsible for preparing all food according to recipe requirements and adhering to product sensitivities; and ensuring all food meets Kokonut's standard of excellence. Key Responsibilities (include and are not limited to):
Responsible for preparing dessert items in accordance with production requirements and Kokonut quality standards while maintaining a safe and sanitary work environment.
Prepares coconut puddings of consistent quality following recipes and production; start food items that are prepared ahead of time; date all food containers; note any out-of-stock times or possible shortages to the Production Manager.
Demonstrates safe food handling practices and follow safety procedures for using equipment and cleaning supplies.
Operates and monitors proper functioning of equipment; follow safety procedures for using equipment; sanitize work area during and after use.
Assemble ingredients to prepare foods according to standard recipes; measure, weight, portion and label according to guidelines.
Stocking prep cook area with all goods needed for their shift; coconut water, coconut milk, coconut, storage containers, utensils, etc.
Cleaning prep cook area including walls, tables, all mixers, sweeping and mopping floor.
Keeping the Production Manager/Floor Supervisor aware of progress throughout the day, as well as bring to the Manager's attention of any stock that we are running low or out of.
Perform other related duties assigned by the management.
Promptly reports equipment and food quality problems to management.
Completes all the assigned tasks in a timely manner.
Maintain punctual attendance.
Purchase ingredients before shift starts when necessary.
Requirements
Must be eligible to work in the U.S
Must have Food Handler's Card
Previous food, restaurant, or kitchen experience is a plus
Basic Qualifications

Physical Requirements

Position requires standing and walking for a period of 3-5 hours without a rest break
Bending, stooping, kneeling, and squatting occasionally throughout scheduled shifts
Required to lift, move and carry up to about 30 pounds
Must be able to see, hear and speak in order to communicate with other employees
Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
Manual dexterity required using hands to finger; handle, and feel; reach with hands and arms
