What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barrel Brazer position at Kolar Arms?
Operate or tend soldering and brazing machines that braze, solder, or spot weld fabricated metal products or components as specified by work orders, blueprints, and layout specifications.
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITES:
1. Set up, operate, and tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
2. Read blueprints, work orders, and production schedules to determine product or job instructions and specifications
3. Select, position, align, and bolt jigs, holding fixtures, guides, and stops onto machines, using measuring instruments and hand tools.
4. Examines and tests soldered or brazed products or components, using testing devices.
5. Prepare metal surfaces and workpieces, using hand-operated equipment such as grinders, cutters, or drills.
6. Observe meters, gauges, and machine operations to ensure that soldering or brazing processes meet specifications.
7. Verify quality of finished work pieces by inspecting them, comparing them to templates & measuring their dimensions.
8. Record product & processing data on specified forms when needed.
9. Must be able to properly use quality gages when needed.
10. Must be able to spot defects on work, close visual inspection required
11. Good problem solving skills
12. Good interpersonal & communication skills required
13. Adherence to all Company safety policies
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
In this position the employee will be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts & vibration. The noise level in the environment can be loud, hearing protection is provided and mandatory in certain areas. Physical requirements are as follows: the employee is required to talk and hear, is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands & arms.
REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
1 years of related experience preferred, although we do provided on-the-job training
Monday – Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm
Overtime as needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
