The Human Resources Intern will assist the HR Department with projects and activities aimed at increasing the effectiveness of the overall HR strategy.
- Perform needs analysis and collect data to identify process improvement opportunities
- Conduct interviews and engagement sessions with employees to gather data and responses
- Develop and implement process improvement initiatives for the HR department
- Review and analyze data to identify trends and illustrate success of new initiatives
- Assist in the development of employee development programs
- Collaborate with other departments to develop programs and solutions for improvement
- Lead projects and events aimed at improving employee engagement, retention, development, etc.
- Prepare and deliver presentations highlighting findings and results
- Participate in job shadows and information sessions with other areas of the organization
- Must be at least a Senior level student at an accredited University, Graduate students preferred.
- Experience with analyzing data focused on people (recruiting, retention, employee surveys, turnover, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience working in any HR related field including staffing, recruiting, training, customer service, payroll, benefits, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees at multiple organization levels; ability to work independently or in collaboration with others to complete work projects; must be comfortable speaking in front of groups to present findings or suggestions;
- Strong time management skills; experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power BI, etc.); Experience with HRIS software a plus
Work will be performed mostly in an office environment on-site at a manufacturing facility. Candidate must be comfortable going out into the manufacturing environment to observe, collect data, and interact with employees. Group meetings or trainings may be held in conference room settings or virtually via Teams.
Building relationships is a key component of the intern role. This position will interact regularly with employees across multiple departments at different levels within the organization. Must be comfortable building relationships with peers, members of management and supervision, as well as individual contributors. Collaboration among groups of employees across multiple functions of the organization is strongly encouraged.
