Automation Engineer

Job Summary:

The PMC Machinery Group is a subsidiary of the well-known multi-national corporation PMC Global Inc., Sun Valley, CA. Our companies, Komo Machine and Polyurethane Machinery Corporation, design and manufacture high quality precision machinery serving the machine tool and spray foam insulation industries respectively. We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the electrical control systems associated with our product lines.

Duties:

- Design, develop, and implement automated systems and processes
- Perform root cause analysis on automation failures and implement corrective actions
- Program logic controllers and motion control systems
- Create and modify schematics using AutoCAD Electrical

- Coordinate with product vendors to introduce new products and technology
- Read and interpret blueprints for automation system integration

Qualifications:

- Degree in Engineering or related field. BSEE not required
- Proven experience in automation engineering
- Familiarity with AutoCAD
- Excellent problem-solving skills for root cause analysis

- Strong background in developing, modifying, and interpreting ladder logic

- Strong communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

- Ability to wire control systems including 480V/120V/24V power, drives, motors, I/O and sensors

- Background in specifying, parametrizing, and analyzing performance of variable frequency drives

- Familiarity with hydraulic, pneumatic and general mechanical systems and troubleshooting

Pay: $65,000.00 - $92,000.00 per year
