This role involves collaborating with engineers to comprehend new design requirements, using CAD software to create designs, reviewing and finalizing designs with the engineering team, documenting all relevant information, upholding CAD standards and installations, processing Engineering Change Orders, and supporting Operations.
Mechanical Designer Responsibilities
- Partner with engineers to grasp the needs and specifications of new, moderately complex designs.
- Use CAD software to independently translate design specifications into complete models.
- Present and review designs and finished models with engineers, working together to resolve any outstanding issues.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including part prints, assembly drawings, and specialized procedures.
- Ensure CAD standards and setups are upheld within the department.
- Manage Engineering Change Order documentation.
- Provide support to Operations during the construction process.
- Undertake additional duties as assigned.
- Associate's degree in Engineering CAD Technology or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of three years of experience using CAD tools and developing mechanical designs.
- Proficient in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
- Familiarity with ERP systems and the process of initiating and handling Engineering Change Orders.
- Strong skills in computer use and CAD software.
- Capability to work well within a team environment.
