Position Summary:
Acts as a strategic compensation partner by assisting in the development, implementation and administration of compensation philosophy and programs that align with Kootenai Health's vision and business strategies. Supports programs , policies and practices that enhance Kootenai Health's ability to attract and retain talent.
Responsibilities:
- Partners extensively on a range of compensation work, in accordance with established policies, including but not limited to: conducting job evaluations, job description process, FLSA classification, conducting market value/pricing assessment and pay reviews, departmental reorganizations, analyzing and administrating salary surveys, and supporting the administration of the annual salary increase plan, bonus and incentives programs
- Identifies and applies metrics, develops reporting and analyses
- Monitors and researches market intelligence data and recommends innovative initiatives in alignment with the workforce of the future strategies
- Participates in salary surveys and analyzes results to evaluate Kootenai Health's competitive position
- Maintains compensation infrastructure (i.e. job codes, job classification, job families, leveling, title structures and pay structures)
- Conducts project task work or participates on project teams to develop compensation processes
- Maintains integrity of compensation structure and record in HRIS System, completes testing and documentation
- Reviews compensation practices for consistency in administration
- Performs compensation audits as needed
- Maintains a thorough understanding of all relevant company policies, local, state and federal regulations governing compensation practices
- Maintains knowledge of trends and best practices
- Demonstrates values of the Kootenai Health Way
- Performs other related duties as assigned
- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field
- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential job function
- Competent to meet age-specific needs of the unit assigned
Requirements and Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or Business related field required
- Minimum 2 years' experience working with the administration of compensation programs required, healthcare experience preferred
- Experience performing job analysis, including job documentation and classification required
- Proven ability to research, analyze and disseminate complex data required
- Knowledge of current trends, practices and laws in compensation program design, wage and salary administration and reward strategies required
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to make presentations to groups required
- Compensation Certification, PHR, or SHRM-CP preferred
- Demonstrated experience on management of compensation benchmarking platforms required
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (i.e. if statements, vlookups, pivot tables, etc.)
- Exceptional quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills, and adaptable mindset
- Knack for forming productive working relationships
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, priority change work environment
- Highly confidential approach to information
