Job Summary:
Under general supervision sets up, adjusts, and operates digital printing (IGen) equipment and stacks printed material on pallets or skids for completion in other departments.

Essential Job Functions:

• Sets up machine and operates it according to Work Instructions and operator manual. Detects mechanical problems outside machines normal operation. Also operates the auxiliary in-line equipment on the presses (UV coater and booklet maker)
• Ensures that digital printing (iGen) equipment and auxiliary equipment is optimized and operating within required standards in terms of process controls, planned maintenance schedules, make ready and running standards.
• Must maintain continuous running capabilities by multitasking job functions such as spooling, job reporting, following dispatch, sorting, loading stock, off stacking, etc.
• Performs operator-level maintenance duties on all equipment (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly) including documentation.
• Interpret work requests for printing to determine type, size, color of paper, required arrangement of document, number of copies and imposition.
• Utilizes designated software to manipulate the customer supplied files in preparation for digital printing.
• Understand and identify proper output and ad templates to use and convert files into the correct pagination.
• Setup print libraries and queues with file and paper stock information.
• Coordinates with Supervisor or Facilitator to produce and prioritize jobs; reorganize to meet deadlines for multiple jobs as needed.
• Retrieves stock required to produce job.
• Checks material for damage.
• Stages material for efficient and orderly processing.
• Removes finished or pre-finished material from the press and stacks on pallets for shipment to the customer or the next operation.
• Monitors machine during run to ensure adherence to specifications and operating speed.
• Ability to lift up to 45-pound boxes frequently. Team lift at higher weights.
• Accurately reports and records daily production and scrap.
• Achieves competency and meets standards in regards to make-ready and run times as established by the company.
• Collaborates with Temporary Associates and assists in answering questions.
• Communicates to Supervisor and/or MFG Facilitator in a timely and accurate manner to address any work area concerns regarding operational issues or safety.
• Works rotating shifts and overtime as scheduled and/or required to meet business timelines related to product completion, order ship dates and/or customer requirements.
• Follows all Safety protocols and adheres to ISO 9001; 14001, 6S standards and Lean processes.
• Visually inspects product to complete required quality checks.
• Reach, bend, twist, push, pull, grasp and stand for extended periods of time.
• Reads and follows all Job Travelers (JTs) to ensure correct product components, quantities, and packaging/label information is preparation for storage, shipment or internal use of product.
• Reports time accurately by ending time to correct work center and/or labor code in time clock.
• Maintains an effective working relationship and communication with fellow employees through adherence and demonstration of the Koozie Group Values.
• Accurately reports and records daily production and scrap materials to ensure inventory accuracy.
• Perform reasonably similar or related duties in other areas as assigned and trained.
• Supports teamwork and process improvements through active participation in meetings and helping team ideas work.
• Wraps, bands, tags and move skids of product with the use of equipment provided.

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
• Must be able to perceive color differences in shading and color value.
• Apply mechanical skills to set up, adjust and problem solve machine issues
• Check for presence and position of ad copy and make necessary adjustments to ensure position is maintained.
• Identify problems and troubleshoot software on digital printer.
• Knowledge of quality methods and techniques preferred.
• Mechanical skills to perform equipment set-ups & troubleshooting preferred.
• Operate digital print equipment including set up and adjustment of feeder, print heads, and delivery by size and thickness.
• Organizational and communication skills.
• Perform preventive maintenance and unplanned maintenance on press and maintain proper records.
• Previous experience working in a production and/or manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Reading, writing, and math skills.
• Technical and interpersonal skills.
• Understand digital outputs and ads, convert files to correct pagination.
