What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sales Manager Southwest U.S. position at Koppers Inc.?
- This position will be responsible for lead generating to both existing and new customers in the commercial market including transit authorities, short lines, contractors and industrial accounts.
- The position will communicate with customers on product related issues, quotes and orders.
- This position is responsible for preparing quotes and receiving orders from customers as well as managing orders through invoicing and at times assist the credit department with receivables.
- Incumbent will develop and maintain favorable relationships with existing and new customers.
- The position will travel throughout the territory regularly setting up office and job site visits with customers as well as attend various shows/conferences per year .
- Incumbent is responsible for developing working relationships with key plant personnel involved in material processing and loading.
- Incumbent is responsible for developing working relationship with various departments including operations, procurement, legal, credit as well as quality to minimize exposure and risk.
- Responsible for acquiring market information to effectively compete within the region.
- Responsible for facilitating the management and promotion of available inventory while focusing on bottom line growth.
- Provide accurate information for Pittsburgh based staff.
- 50% travel is required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sales, or forestry.
- 3 years of experience in the sales and marketing field or manufacturing operations; 5-7 years in sales and marketing or railroad related industry experience preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Products.
- Ability to understand financial concepts and report analysis.
- Ability to understand rail and truck shipments to process accurate freight calculations.
