Your role in our team
- You will operate Fab Shop and Machine Shop machinery and equipment.
- You will read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
- You will fully analyze all required blueprints, drawings, work orders and sketches in order to fabricate and install desired product or part.
- You are able to detect errors and correct through proper departmental channels.
- You will set stops or guides to specified length as indicated by scale, rule or template.
- You will position a workpiece against stops or aligns layout marks with die or blade.
- You will push buttons or depress pedal to activate machine.
- You will observe machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction.
- You will measure workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation.
- You will remove burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from the workpiece.
- You will perform minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces.
- You will set up and perform maintenance on fab and machine shop machines and perform burning work.
- You will utilize cranes and other lifting equipment to load, unload, and transport materials between operations.
- You will operate any equipment needed to perform the job.
- You will perform related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Your profile
- You have a High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
- You have 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- You have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- You have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to read and interpret metal rule.
- You are able to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
- You have the ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
- You will be regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch.
- You must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
