Overview
Scope of Responsibilities: Oversees the operations of various employees when their work relates to areas defined in the job responsibilities listed below. Responsible for interacting with internal and external stakeholders, estimating personnel needs, meeting completion dates, as it relates to areas of responsibilities.
Job Summary: Provide our employee owners with IT services necessary to perform their jobs, through the installation, management and maintenance of network equipment, servers, and services outlined below.
Responsibilities
Job Duties:
- Install, manage and maintain the following services for our stores and office locations.
- Telephone service (phone service and phone systems)
- Private data service (T1, fiber, point to point, etc.)
- Internet service (including internet security and content filtering)
- Wireless network service
- Routers, switches, firewalls
- Network security including vlans, stateful firewalls, ids/ips, etc.
- Disaster recovery and backups for critical systems (redundant private data paths at store level, duplication of services at data centers).
- Email service (including anti-spam and anti-virus, blackberry)
- Software purchasing, licensing and compliance
- UPS support
- Vendor management
- Other miscellaneous services
- Must possess very strong analytical skills to solve complex problems.
- Ability to express complex network issues clearly and concisely both in writing and verbally.
- Ability to work well with people from many different disciplines and with varying degrees of technical
- Ability to manage small and medium sized projects with minimal support.
- Understand existing technologies and new technology trends.
- Proficient in the use of PCs, Microsoft operating systems, and Microsoft Office.
- Needs to be able to work a flexible schedule (evenings, night work, etc.).
- On call support.
- Other various duties as required.
Qualifications
Education:
- Associates degree or equivalent real-world experience.
- MCSE or similar certification is preferred but not required.
- CCNA or similar certification is preferred but not required.
Experience:
- Two to five years working with networks, servers and communications technologies is preferred. This is not an entry level position.
- Must possess knowledge of security concepts applicable to this role and function.
