Position Summary:
Coordinate service levels, ordering, merchandising, customer service, department maintenance, inventory control, and product variety for liquor products. Provide effective training, development and work direction for associates; encourage individual/group efforts toward meeting/exceeding department objectives. Essential Job Functions:
- Demonstrate teamwork to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant working and shopping environment.
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by demonstrating sincerity, patience and respect in all customer interactions and by thanking customers for their business.
- Greet customers in a genuine and friendly manner throughout the store and assist them by escorting them to products, loading/unloading heavy items and helping them to retrieve out of reach items.
- Offer customers product/recipe suggestions and recommendations.
- Assist or delegate associates to assist customers with special orders, questions and price checks.
- Operate equipment (e.g., scanner, intercom, register, telephone, box cutter, flatbed, pallet jack and adding machine) according to company guidelines.
- Implement/maintain a coordinated, aggressive and creative merchandising strategy using division guidelines to maximize sales, variety and gross profit; partner with other departments to plan in-store holiday sales and merchandising plans.
- Utilize a strong signing program; create attractive/creative displays that integrate new/seasonal items.
- Order stock timely, determine the proper quantity based projected sales; record each order on the calendar.
- Monitor key item movement; ensure a minimum of over/under stock; effectively communicate with vendors.
- Plan/write associate work assignments, work lists and labor schedules; delegate assignments, provide training/work direction and monitor progress to ensure completion; conduct performance reviews and administer corrective action.
- Complete paperwork (e.g., daily invoices, stamps, logs and records) and send it to the office.
- Verify invoices to purchase journal, review management reports, and take accurate inventory.
- Coordinate/assist in receiving/pricing liquor products, check shipment contents, quality, verify delivery to invoices and sign for delivery.
- Retail/price product and put it on shelf/display, and ensure proper pricing in system; notify point of sale (POS) of specials/price changes.
- Comply with and reinforce all food safety, sanitation and safety regulations/guidelines/procedures and programs according to company, local, state, and federal health code regulations; identify unsafe conditions and notify store management; follow all store and department procedures.
- Physical demands include, but are not limited to, frequently standing, reaching, turning, walking, stooping/bending, lifting/carrying objects 25 to 55 lbs., pushing/pulling objects 50 to 2,500 lbs., and occasionally squatting and lifting objects more than 55 lbs.
