Position Summary:
Manage the Pharmacy Department to deliver pharmaceutical service of the highest quality. Maximum sales and profit of prescription drugs, health and beauty aids, and other services. Role model and demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety of others.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform pharmacy functions in an efficient, accurate, and friendly manner.
- Validate each prescription and questions any prescription judged incorrect or fraudulent.
- Check each prescription for proper contents, complete label and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Available for consultation with patients on health related matters.
- Advise patients of the proper use of prescription and non-prescription products.
- Remove and exclude products from the pharmacy which are defective, recalled, adulterated, or misbranded.
- Present a professional image to the patient by the display of professional licenses and an orderly appearance and operation of the Pharmacy Department.
- Comply with all Federal and State laws, which pertain to the practice of pharmacy.
- Maintain a comprehensive pharmaceutical reference library.
- Consult with physicians on the proper use of drug products.
- Responsible for the purchasing of all prescription pharmaceuticals based on guidelines for quality of merchandise and inventory control, as prescribed by the Director of Pharmacy.
- Responsible for the completion and submission of reports, as required by the Director of Pharmacy.
- Have power of attorney to sign for all narcotic orders.
- Demonstrate the ability and desire to promote, communicate and implement company initiatives and process improvements to direct reports in a positive manner.
- Perform Clinical Care programs.
- Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties; complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications:
- Willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Must be licensed by the appropriate State Board of Pharmacy and complies with all Federal and State laws which pertain to the practice of Pharmacy.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to make intelligent decisions quickly
- Able to tactfully and calmly handle stressful situations and make a positive impression on associates and customers.
- Must be Immunization Certified, or in the process of completing this certification.
