What are the responsibilities and job description for the Staff Accountant position at KT Tape?
KT Tape is looking to add a highly motivated Staff Accountant to our Accounting Department. This position will cover a broad range of responsibilities and will work with the Controller and other accountants to close the books, perform account recons, while focusing on helping the controller to improve Accounting Processes.
What you will be doing:
- Perform month end reconciliation of designated balance sheet and sub-ledger accounts; update each reconciliation with current and accurate support.
- Prepare and enter recurring and adjusting journal entries.
- Investigate and resolve account discrepancies.
- Cross train on accounts payable functions and backup AP tasks as needed.
- Reconcile sales tax accounts. Review and approve multistate sales and use tax returns.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
- Provide support to outside accounting firms for all external audits, provide schedules and supporting records are required.
- Receive and respond timely to telephone, e-mail inquiries and mail.
- Assumes additional responsibilities and performs special projects as needed or directed by management.
What we expect from you:
Our ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or a related field and 2 years of accounting experience. Experience working with NetSuite and Knowledge of Avalara tax software a plus.
This candidate must have account reconciliation experience and strong computer skills including advanced MS Excel Skills. They must also have an understanding of accounting practices and concepts of application (GAAP).
This candidate must be detail-oriented, dependable and have a strong work ethic. They must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism when working with sensitive information such as company financial and employee pay records.
This is a Hybrid position, and this candidate will be expected to work in the office 3 days a week (Mon, Wed, Thurs) and will be permitted to work from home 2 days a week (Tues & Fri).
